Stanwell owns and operates the leading coal-fired power stations in Queensland. The Tarong and Stanwell power stations have played a critical role in meeting the state’s energy needs for decades. They are flagship contributors to the electricity grid, providing 33% of the current energy needs of Queensland. We also recover and reuse waste from these stations to support a circular economy across other industries.

Our assets are operated, maintained and managed by a dedicated team working around the clock to deliver affordable, reliable electricity to Queenslanders and local businesses. Stanwell’s portfolio also includes renewable energy generation, firming and storage assets that are wholly owned or joint ventures. This enables Stanwell to provide firmed renewable energy to our customers and the National Electricity Market (NEM).
